Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, there has been a large amount of interest in securing collectibles and antiques which were part of this period. Part of the demand was caused when certain facets of the old regime, such as uniforms and equipment, were phased out and replaced with new items. However many old artefacts including Russian antiques and collectibles are still available. A great deal of these have been sourced from various naval supply depots, Army and Air Force warehouses, government storerooms and museum cellars.
